METHOD

How this ROI is calculated ?

Four independent levers, each anchored on public benchmarks. Not a single figure comes from our imagination: everything is sourced and auditable.

Procurement team productivity

Automating repetitive tasks (data entry, chasing, consolidation). A buyer recovers 200 to 400 hours a year, redeployed onto value-adding activities (sourcing, negotiation, supplier management).

Axiscope baseline: 501 person-days for 12 buyers / 1,200 suppliers

Negotiated savings

Consolidated spend visibility, structured e-sourcing, a rationalised panel. Digital procurement departments capture 3 to 6% of gains on the volume they manage in the first year.

Source: Deloitte CPO Survey + Hackett

Reduced maverick spend

Catalogues, approval workflows and business rules bring part of maverick spending back within the contracted scope. 5 to 16% of negotiated savings are lost without that control.

Source: Hackett Group + APQC (≥ 2.5% of total spend)

Non-conformity recovery

Contractual traceability, supplier scoring and improvement plans make it possible to detect, document and invoice discrepancies. Non-conformity costs represent more than 5% of turnover on average.

Lever Assumption Source Year
Buyer productivity −28% procurement staffing in world-class digital organisations, −18% operating costs Hackett Group 2022
Negotiation savings 3 to 6% of managed spend, ROI ≤ 12 months on procurement digitalisation programmes Deloitte CPO Survey 2023

How to deliver this ROI in practice ?

Three building blocks, activated separately or as an integrated suite depending on your maturity.

SRM and supplier panel

Centralise the supplier base, assess performance, track non-conformities and action plans. This is the foundation of the negotiation and NC levers.

Discover the SRM →

Sourcing and tenders

Digitalise the RFx cycle, compare offers on weighted criteria, trace decisions. Directly activates the negotiated savings lever.

See the e-sourcing module →

Procure-to-Pay and contracts

Purchase orders, approval workflows, contracting. Reduces maverick spend and makes spending commitments reliable.

FAQ ROI simulator

How does this simulator calculate my savings?

Four independent levers are added together: productivity (hours saved × loaded hourly cost), negotiated savings (% of managed spend), reduced maverick spend (40% of maverick spending recovered) and non-conformity recovery (60% of the NC cost avoided). Each lever is then modulated by your digital maturity and the prudence slider (conservative ×0.5, median ×1.0, ambitious ×1.5).

Are the figures credible, and where do the assumptions come from?

Every default assumption is sourced from public publications: Hackett Group, Deloitte CPO Survey, APQC Open Standards, Gartner, AFNOR and Aberdeen. The productivity baseline (501 person-days for 12 buyers / 1,200 suppliers) comes from an internal Axiscope spreadsheet built on real projects. You can consult the "Sources and methodology" table higher up the page.

What does procurement software like Axiscope cost?

The simulator uses an indicative annual cost of around €25,000 + 0.05% of the purchasing volume managed, plus a setup of the order of €40,000. The actual terms depend on the functional scope activated (SRM alone, P2P, the full suite), the number of users and the complexity of the ERP integration. Request a demo for a personalised quote.

How long does it take to see the ROI?

Payback is calculated from the net annual gain (savings − recurring cost) against the setup cost. For median mid-caps in "median" mode, it falls between 6 and 14 months. Organisations still on paper/spreadsheets achieve the fastest ROI; those already partly digitalised see a longer payback but more solid incremental gains.

My company is not in the sectors offered - does it still work?

Yes. Choose the closest sector (Industry for the production of goods, B2B services for pure tertiary, Distribution for trading), then open expert mode to set your own maverick spend percentages, your number of non-conformities and your negotiation target. The calculation adapts entirely to your parameters.

Does the simulator take change management into account?

Indirectly. The "conservative" prudence slider (×0.5) reflects progressive adoption and internal friction. The digital maturity coefficient takes the starting point into account. To include the hidden costs (training, support, ERP dual run), increase the setup cost shown by 15 to 25% — that is the range observed on procurement digitalisation projects.
