U-SHIN
"With Axiscope, we chose a solution that stands out from the off-the-shelf offerings of the major market providers and that covers all purchasing processes from ordering to payment"
Stakes et Objectifs
- To facilitate exchanges with suppliers
- To allow data transfer with their ERP
U-Shin is a leading international supplier with eight production sites located from Brazil to Japan, and no less than 600 suppliers worldwide.
In the automotive industry, the recent IATF standards imposed increasingly high expectations on the various players regarding suppliers. The development times required by manufacturers are also becoming shorter and shorter. All of this leads to the need for IT support tools for the activities of the Purchasing and Quality Purchasing teams. The challenge is to deploy standards on a global scale so that they are practiced and respected at all times..., but also to capitalize on feedback to improve overall performance.
ERPs and their SRM modules are often cumbersome and unattractive solutions, even if progress is being made.
With Axiscope, we chose a solution that came out of the off-the-shelf offerings of the major providers on the market and that covered all purchasing processes from ordering to payment. Instead, we chose a tool with specific functions that facilitates exchanges with suppliers and allows data transfers with our ERP (which already manages orders and invoicing).
We have the following possibilities :
- An analytical data base
It offers the possibility to make statistics between equivalent products, to formalize and pilot action plans on material costs, to prepare meetings with suppliers. To summarize, it is a fertile ground for any discussion to optimize costs and work in collaboration with suppliers.
- Dynamic risk management
In order to react quickly to any disruption caused by weather, geopolitical events or factory closures, we have access to a precise inventory of potentially affected sites around the world. This allows us to better understand the situation and avoid any production interruption.
- Quality incident management
We can alert and share in real time all available information to establish with the concerned supplier the best diagnosis of the problem and agree together on the best measures to take. The management of non-quality has become strategic.
- Supplier capacity monitoring
We pay particular attention to the monitoring of the lifetime of suppliers' resources and production capacities. We must be able to anticipate any delivery stop and evaluate the weight of any investment to be planned, such as new equipment. This subject is very important because an assembly line stop for a car manufacturer is particularly costly, costing between 10,000 and 50,000 euros per hour.
- A validation process of new suppliers and launching calls for tender
To integrate our supplier portfolio, any company must meet numerous criteria and pass a business audit. Many documents are validated and stored in our Axiscope database, allowing everyone to consult their history. Similarly, all calls for tender and associated decisions are processed by SRM according to clearly established rituals.
- A communication tool
We share with suppliers their performance regarding established indicators, which gives them an updated view of their contribution every month: this transparency stimulates them to be more proactive and to make proposals.
The tools and electronic exchanges of information do not replace direct contact with suppliers (telephone or visits) but are complementary. They contribute to being more efficient, more rigorous and faster. Human exchanges are always the basis of a lasting collaboration....
